Bobby Curt Benton, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence. 

He retired from U.S. Pipe & Foundry after more than 40 years of service.  Bobby was a longtime member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Queenie Bell Benton; wife of 53 years, JoAnn Robinson Benton; brothers, Joe Eddie Benton and Melvin Benton; sisters, Mattie Ruth Chapman, Olivia Burton, and Sydella Bankston; and nephews, Timothy Benton, Gerald Benton, Sr., Phillip Benton, and Arthur Benton. 

Survivors include a devoted son, Darcy Benton; devoted daughters, Belinda Benton and Vicki Davis; grandchildren, Keffner Benton, Darvin Taylor, Courtney Benton, Justin Hitchcock, and Brittany Hitchcock; nine great-grandchildren; devoted sister, Beatrice (Walter) Barker of Columbus, OH; sisters-in-law, Annie Lee Borkman, Joyce A. Fears, Madeline Hale, and Linda (William) Petty; brother-in-law, Henry (Helen) Robinson, all of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Bobby will lie-in-state on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Pastor Ternae Jordan, Sr. as the eulogist.
