Dr. Louis F. Morgan, director of library services and a professor at Lee University, has completed a post-graduate certification course through the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Morgan’s certification included studies of “Communicating for Influence and Impact” through the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

“I have a great affinity for Cambridge, so the opportunity to take a course, even if online from home, is very meaningful to me,” said Dr. Morgan. “It was quite an adjustment with the time commitment and reading required, but I was stretched, corrected, affirmed, and motivated by tutors and peers from many countries throughout the world.”

In 2017, Dr. Morgan led the Lee University UK Semester Study Abroad program and has spent several holidays/breaks in the UK since.

In addition to his role with Squires Library at Lee, Dr. Morgan teaches graduate courses and serves as an academic advisor.

“Through the UK course, I learned so many new things to help me develop personally and in my teaching and leadership,” said Dr. Morgan. “I have updated my graduate courses to include material I learned during my certification.”

Dr. Morgan is a member of the Deans Council, Academic Council, and Master of Ministry Studies graduate committee. Prior to joining Lee’s faculty in 2003, Dr. Morgan previously served as archivist at the Dixon Research Center and as curatorial assistant at the Museum Center at Five Points.

Along with his recent certification, Dr. Morgan has a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational leadership from Regent University; a Master of Science in information science from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and a Bachelor of Arts in history and communications/public relations from Lee University.

Dr. Morgan is a recipient of the Lee University Excellence in Advising Award and the Tennessee Library Association’s James E. Ward Library Instruction Award.
