Alfreda Baker "Sweet" Street, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 in a local hospital.

 She was a graduate of Howard High School and continued her education at McKenzie Business College. She was a veteran of the United States Navy.  Alfreda was employed for over 20 years with Gordon’s Cleaners. She was a member of Pierce Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and the Divine Purpose Ministry.  She was a Foster Grandparent.

 Alfreda was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Street; parents, Elgia and Mary Baker; brothers, Fred Greer, Sr., Curtis Baker, Sr. and John L Baker; and nephews, Britt Greer and Curtis Baker, Jr.

 Survivors include her nieces, Angela “Vickie” Greer, Crystal Greer, Pamela (Thurman) Sales, and Alisha Sanders; nephews, Frederick (Kisha) Greer, Jr., Geoffrey Greer, Peter (Nancy) Greer, Ryan Greer, and Oliver (Mary) Baker; great and great-great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Sam Williams, Elizabeth Crum, Mary Wright, Tan Harden; Pierce Avenue MBC Family; Dodson Avenue Healthcare Family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

 She will lie in state Friday, January 22, 2021 from 1:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

The family service will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Pierce Avenue M.B.C. with Pastor W.H. Clark as the eulogist.

 Burial is on Thursday, January 28, 2021  at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
