The "Newport Nightmare" Jimmy Owens continued his dominance of 411 Motor Speedway outside of Gatlinburg Tuesday night, leading all 50 laps of the Castrol Floracing Night in America $20,000 to-win event.
Starting on the outside front row, the "O-Show" was never challenged, though Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga. did make things interesting, racing from his twelfth starting spot to finish second.
Owens has won in his previous four starts at 411 Motor Speedway, a record that began pre-pandemic outbreak in 2020.
NASCAR points leader Kyle Larson (#6) of California was entered and finished seventh in his 411 Motor Speedway debut. Behind Davenport in third was Scott Bloomquist’s racer Nick Hoffman of North Carolina. The hottest racer in America Georgian Brandon Overton was fourth and local racer Cory Hedgecock was fifth overall.
The next Castrol Floracing Night in America will be next Wednesday night at East Tennessee's Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, northeast of Knoxville.
