B. Terrell “Terry” Tucker
B. Terrell “Terry” Tucker, 74, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on October 25, 2021.
Terry was born in Fayetteville, Tn., graduated from Marshall County High School, and attended Memphis State University. He later returned to Lewisburg, Tn., to marry Sherry Byrd, his high school sweetheart, in 1965. They later moved to Chattanooga, where Terry pursued a career in financial services. In 1969, he joined New York Life Insurance Company where he worked for 49 years and became a Charted Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He also worked with Securities America, Inc. from 1990 to 2017, and he finished his career advising his loyal clients at Greenwich Advisors, LLC from 2017 until his retirement in 2021.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Terry got his pilot’s license in 1980 and loved flying single engine planes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby B. Tucker, mother, Virginia Leonard, and stepfather, Howard Leonard.
Terry is survived by Sherry, his wife of 56 years; children Richard Terrell Tucker, D. Chris (Marcia) Tucker and Lauren (Nathan) Wilson; grandchildren: Alexander Tucker, Frederick Tucker, Hannah Wilson, and Wesley Wilson; siblings: Tim (Jean) Leonard, Pat (Gina) Leonard, and Denise (Johnny) Baxter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Chris Ehlers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service time at North Chapel. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
