Another week, another pivotal game. The Chattanooga Mocs and Furman Paladins square off Saturday in a game impacting the top of the Southern Conference standings. There are four teams with one loss and another with two vying for this year’s SoCon crown.

Both the Mocs and Paladins are 4-3 on the campaign overall.

Chattanooga enters 3-1 in the league, tied with VMI one-half game behind early leaders ETSU and Mercer at 4-1. Furman is well within striking distance at 2-2.

The Mocs are coming off an impressive 55-13 win at Samford, while the Paladins led nearly all but the final nine seconds of a 17-13 loss at home to the Bucs. Both teams are receiving top 25 votes.

The matchup portends to be of two like-minded teams. Both like to run the ball, control the clock and play tough defense. It’s a fitting matchup for Homecoming Week. The theme is Viva Mocs Vegas! It’s also a CODE BLUE with all fans encouraged to wear blue to the contest.
