Rosalind Careathers Mathis
Rosalind Careathers Mathis, age 56, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and formerly of Kensington, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021.
She was born March 25, 1965 to her the late Bee Ervin and Jewell Careathers Brewster.
She was preceded by her husband, Sidney Evon Mathis and one sister, Sherlin Clark.
She was a member of the Baptist faith and graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School.
Survivors are a dear friend, Reginald Rice of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Felicia Howard of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Shelia Careathers of Chickamauga, Georgia; four brothers, Gregory Careathers of LaFayette, Georgia, Tony Hammonds of Clemmons, North Carolina, Jerome Careathers, and Wallace Ervin of Chattanooga; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; mother-in-law, Eula Mathis McLin; other relatives, and friends.
Graveside service and interment will be on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Garmany Cemetery, Highway 136 West, Chickamauga, Georgia with Rev. Archie Jackson as eulogist.
Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
