This Did You Know doesn’t include any pearls of wisdom about some unknown fact about the Dec. 7, 1941, sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

I, like many Americans have negligently reduced this date to a place in history while the news media, politicians, and others address the current divisive issues that pale in comparison to this single “day of infamy” that brought together our citizens to unite as one Nation.  While we have to accept the fact that the members of each race, religion or creed were not treated fairly during this period they still answered the call to fight for America and to save our Democracy.

Will it take another disaster like Pearl Harbor to put aside the bitterness and selfish interests that today receive publicity greater than a tribute to those who responded to the December 7 disaster?

The remaining survivors and those who gave their lives or limbs in WWII deserve more present recognition.

I apologize for my personal oversight before it is too late!
