The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present Dvorák Wind Serenade at Ringgold First Baptist Church on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m. Part of the First Horizon Instrumental Series and sponsored by O’Shaughnessy and Carter, the program will feature both wind and string performers on Dvorák's Serenade in D minor, Mozart’s charming Quartet in D Major for Flute and Strings, a movement from Mozart’s Divertimento, and contemporary American composer Anne Guzzo’s The Bear and the Eclipse.

“As a flute player, Mozart’s Flute Quartet has been on my bucket list for decades,” says CSO Music Director Kayoko Dan. “While I will not be the one playing, I am looking forward to hearing this charming work performed by our wonderful musicians. Also on the program are Anne Guzzo's The Bear and the Eclipse, a moving story of a mother bear losing her cubs, and a movement from Mozart's Divertimento, both written for a string quintet. To close the program, we will perform Dvorak's Serenade in D Minor, a work that demonstrates luscious harmonies and beautiful melodies with a variety of instrumental color and depth provided by wind instruments and low strings.”

The First Horizon Instrumental series features smaller ensembles of musicians and limited audience sizes to assist with social distancing. Tickets will not be sold at the venue and attendees will be required to wear masks, follow social distancing guidelines, and adhere to the CSO's COVID-19 related concert health and safety standards, which can be found at chattanoogasymphony.org/concert-health-safety.

Tickets are available at www.chattanoogasymphony.org or by contacting the CSO Box Office at 267-8583. The box office is also open for limited office hours to assist patrons in-person each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 736 Georgia Ave., Suite 101.
