The Independence Day celebration will begin early this year in Collegedale as the City announced that they will hold their annual Freedom Celebration and Fireworks event on Thursday, July 1. Working in a partnership with the Chattanooga Market, the Celebration will begin at 4 p.m. and end with a large display of fireworks at dusk.
This year’s festival centerpiece will be at The Commons, 4950 Swinyar Dr. in Collegedale. Food trucks will be on site providing a variety of foods for the evening and the popular Freedom Market will be set up at Founder’s Hall.
Live entertainment will be featured throughout the evening with music kicking off at 5 p.m. with Ain’t Just Whistling Dixie Jazz Band. Anna Baldree takes the stage at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Monday Night Social Band at 6:50 p.m. At 8:15 p.m., local favorite East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra takes the stage to wrap up an evening of musical performances.
"For the past 52 years, Collegedale has welcomed our families and neighbors to our city for a fun evening,” said Collegedale Mayor Katie Lamb. “We look forward to seeing everyone once again."
Admission to the Freedom Celebration is free, but visitors are encouraged to arrive early as parking is limited. There will be a charge of $5 for parking. For questions or additional information, contact: help@publicmarkets.us.
