Two Ooltewah Teams Win Games At Dizzy Dean World Series

The 6 and under Ooltewah Unicorns won two games Saturday at the Dizzy Dean Softball World Series to advance to the semi-finals. Ooltewah defeated the Senatobia Sparks (Mississippi) 22-6 and then used three home runs to turn back the Southaven Shockwave (Mississippi) 17-6. Ooltewah plays the Hernando Legacy (Mississippi) Sunday at noon CST in the semi-finals.


The 8 and under Ooltewah Lady Owls played a tough first game against the Eastern Alabama All-stars, but fell 9-6.

Ooltewah then caught fire and overpowered the Grenada Mississippi All-Stars 16-2 to advance in the losers bracket. The Lady Owls play at 9:00 a.m. CST Sunday against the Bolivar All-stars from West Tennessee.
