The Covenant cross country teams dominated the course at the Maryville Invitational Friday afternoon.
The women came in first of five with 22 points in their 6k race, while the men were also first of five in their 8k race with 26 points.
The women had three runners in the top five. Claire Mackes continued her stellar performance, coming in first place overall with her new career-best time of 23:44.0. Mattie Parker was not far behind her, placing second with her time of 24:46.2.
And Maggie Henry's time of 25:37.3 earned her a fourth place finish.
Matilda Green also set a new career-best with her time of 26:36.3 and eighth place finish.
Three freshmen made their 6k debuts for the Scots. Lydia Moore finished seventh with a time of 26:34.0. Jenna Sandhoff came in 12th with her time of 27:43.2, while Kali Hina was 13th with a time of 27:45.0.
The men also posted several top-five finishes. Micaiah Allison posted a second place finish with his time of 27:32.6. Freshman Josiah Mellott finished third with his first career 8k time of 28:03.6. Ian Sneller finished fourth with the same time.
In sixth place was Benjamin Jones with a time of 28:26.7. Shea Fisler earned himself an 11th place finish with his time of 29:51.8, while Will Holland set a new career-best with his 14th place finish and time of 30:50.6.
The opponents for both races included Asbury, Maryville, Walters State, and Warren Wilson. Asbury finished second on the women's side with 49 points and second on the men's with 47.
