Collin Lewis scored his first career goal in the 89' to seal the win for Lee.
Junior Collin Lewis scored the game winner off a volley from Eemeli Makela with 66 seconds left on the clock to give Lee the 1-0 win over the Mississippi College Choctaws. The Flames improve to 5-1 and remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0. The Choctaws fall to 2-4 (1-2 GSC).

In a back-and-forth first half, Lee outshot the Choctaws 3-2, but the first 45 minutes remained scoreless.

The 2nd half began the same way, with each team tallying four more shots. A jumping save by goalie Sam Keener in the 48th minute, combined with the Flames unyielding defense, kept the Choctaws off the board.
Keener finished with three saves in the contest.

Finally in the 89th minute, Lewis capitalized off a direct pass from Makela and scored the game winning goal, the first in his collegiate career. Makela's volley pass didn't hit the ground, but connected directly with Lewis's right foot, and then found its home in the bottom corner of the net. Makela leads the club in assists with four. From there the celebration was on as Lewis's teammates rushed the field to celebrate with the junior midfielder from Knoxville.

The Choctaws had no time to recover in the final 66 seconds of the game as the Flames notched their fourth win in a row. Mississippi College keeper, Alejandro Chavarria recorded four saves in the loss.

Lee will stay in Mississippi this weekend and return to play on Sunday against Delta State University for their fourth conference game. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. EST.
