UTC's Smith Named To Mid-Season Watch List

Sophomore guard Malachi Smith (Belleville, Ill.) has earned a spot on the Mid-Season Watch List for the 2021-22 Lou Henson National Player of the Year award. The award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in NCAA Division I basketball. More information on the award including the full list is attached. Smith leads the Southern Conference and ranks 14th in NCAA DI basketball this season with a 20.8 points-per-game average.

Chattanooga (13-3, 3-0 SoCon) battles Western Carolina (7-9, 1-2 SoCon) tonight at 7 p.m.
ET in Cullowhee, N.C., on ESPN+. The Mocs host Furman on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET for a nationally televised contest on CBS Sports Network. The game is a GOLD RUSH with the first 1,000 fans receiving FREE 'Gold Rush' t-shirts.
