Jan. 6 in New Orleans was the kickoff for Mardi Gras which normally features tableau balls, dinners, brunches, parties, concerts in the park and many parades.
One of the first events there is the Joan of Arc Parade. Locals never need an excuse for a parade or a celebration and this year is no exception. Leading the parade was a standard bearer with a banner reading BE GONE FOUL PLAGUE. I thought that pretty much sums it up for billions worldwide.
Following the standard bearer were a corps of “plague doctors.” They were costumed in black, with long, beak-like masks and sinister looking hats, common to medieval efforts to ward off the bubonic plague.
I thought they pretty much summed up the Biden response to COVID. Hopefully the Biden plague doctors and their mumbo-jumbo will go the way of their medieval counterparts and like the feudal lords, the progressives creating so many conflicts will soon be gone.
