Donald Graham “Don” Cowan
Donald Graham “Don” Cowan, 77, of Georgetown, Tennessee, passed peacefully January 14, 2022.
Don was a graduate of North Carolina State University. He spent most of his life as an engineer in the carpet industry and retired to spend more time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing at their house, working in the yard and also spending time at their family farm in North Carolina. If he wasn't working around the house you could find him watching a Wolfpack basketball or football game or helping out at his wife's restaurant. Don will be missed by those who were lucky enough to know him. He was a true gentleman who would help anyone in need.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Graham and Marjorie Cowan of Cleveland, NC and his son, Justin Cowan.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine “Kay” Jenkins Cowan of Cleveland; children, Lisa West (Vince), Christy Turner (Ross), Mary Smith (Steve), all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Elysa and Donovan West (Michelle), Katie Lee Sommers (Jacob), Caleb, Lily McGuire (Tyler), Ben Turner, Emma, Clara, Willa and Duncan Smith. Also included are his sisters, Kay Graham (Mark), Pat McLaughlin (John Robertson), Gail Thompson (Mike) and great-grandchildren, Rhiannon and Elliana. Don also has an extensive stepfamily, whom he loved and adored, with his wife Kay.
Per Don’s wishes, there will be a small private service for the family.
