The Hamilton County Highway Department will close the W Road on Monday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The gates will be closed and no traffic allowed though.
Motorists should be prepared to use Signal Mountain Highway/ Taft Highway or Roberts Mill Road to access or leave Signal Mountain.
The highway department will be moving large equipment onto the W Road that will block both lanes in preparation for utility work that begins next week.
