The Creag At McLemore Introduces Fall Menu Created By Executive Chef Michael Price

  • Tuesday, October 4, 2022

Created by Executive Chef Michael Price, McLemore’s new menu pays homage to the changing seasons by offering elevated comfort food served with sweeping views of the changing foliage about McLemore Cove and Pigeon Mountain. Price brings a rich culinary history to McLemore.

The 2019 Lodge Cast Iron Cookoff winner and competitor in the 2020 World Food Championships showcases his skills by providing shareable options of skillet shrimp with fried avocado, smoked corn and chimichurri to McLemore’s famous pimento cheese hushpuppies with Mississippi comeback sauce.  The burnt Georgia peach shareable is served with whipped goat cheese and crispy speck ham.  While the restaurant offers traditional salads, it also offers a corn and chickpea bowl with miso, jalapeno, and tahini served with artisanal leaf lettuce as well as a chilled leek and potato soup.

Price’s take on a traditional filet is accompanied by charred summer squash, burnt tomato and chimichurri.  He pivots to a short rib ragu that features parmesan Reggiano, collard greens, burnt carrots, and San Marzano tomatoes while also offering a roasted pork loin with Logan Turnpike grits, fried okra and pickled green tomato relish.  The main courses are rounded out with roasted stuffed quail, rainbow trout, Gemelli shrimp pasta and butter basted scallops that feature potato puree, crispy leeks and asparagus.

Offerings of banana pudding, oatmeal fudge brownies, and brown sugar peach cake served with smoked vanilla ice cream serve as the compliment to a perfect meal.

Marc Bauer, managing director, noted, “Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons at McLemore and Executive Chef Mike Price has created a menu that is not only intuitive of changing tastes but also reflective of the history of the area.  From roasted root vegetables served with smoky rich flavors of main dishes to meals finished with a more-than-subtle nod to Georgia’s peaches, the menu at McLemore is one that will underscore the vibrance of the season.”

The Creag is open to the public for dinner each evening with the exception of Tuesdays from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The restaurant is also open with daily breakfast, lunch and bar menu offerings beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Located on Lookout Mountain in Walker County, Georgia, McLemore is planned to be a major branded, upscale/luxury resort, conference center with a mountaintop golf course and spa that will attract visitors from the Southeast, as well as national and international markets.  Recently named the “Best Finishing Hole in America since 2000” by Golf Digest, McLemore recently opened their clubhouse and on-site restaurant, The Creag. Construction is underway for the lodge being built on the eastern brow of Lookout Mountain overlooking historic McLemore Cove. To learn more, visit https://www.themclemore.com/.
