Mr. Jack Rogers of Hixson was honored Thursday by the John Sevier Chapter Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution with the SAR’s Wounded Warrior Coin and Certificate for his service and sacrifice as a corporal, USMC during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Rogers was presented the SAR recognition by MG (Ret) Bill Raines a member of the John Sevier Chapter during the chapter’s Kings Mountain Banquet and meeting. It was noted during the presentation that Mr. Rogers received three Purple Heart awards during his service as a U.S.
Marine.
The chapter presented Lt. Col. (ret) Bill Brooks, Hamilton County Schools Director of JROTC with the SAR’s Bronze Good Citizenship award after his presentation on the JROTC Program within Hamilton County schools.
Mr. John Kain, a chapter member, was awarded the SAR’s Bronze Roger Sherman award for his years of service to maintaining the Brainerd Mission Cemetery and acting as treasurer for the cemetery’s maintenance committee.
Mr. Charles Dammann was presented with the SAR’s 20 year service pin.
