James Herbert Davis, 78, passed away December 3, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee and Virginia Abi Davis, and granddaughter, Courtney Grace Rench.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968 aboard USS Epperson DD-719 and USS Lofberg DD-759. “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”
He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Jennifer) Davis, Cecilia (Brian) Rench, Norman Davis and Kimberly (Corey) Cavett; siblings, Larry (Patsy) Davis, Alene (Harvey) Cronan, Jerry (BJ) Davis and Mary Ann Davis; mother of his children, Alleen Davis; grandchildren, Caleb Rench, Christina Morgan (Toby), Aidan Davis, Kinsley Cavett, GraceAnn Rench, Owen Cavett and Elijah Rench; great-grandchild, Everleigh Morgan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a private family viewing.
A graveside service will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Davis, Norman Davis, Brian Rench, Corey Cavett, Caleb Rench and Greg Davis.
