Veteran coach Thomas Gray will take over as the athletic director for Gordon Lee High School for the 2022-2023 school year, bringing an experienced leader and motivator to the Trojan athletic administration team.
Gray replaces Todd Windham following the 2021-2022 school year after serving as the assistant athletic director for three years.
“I am excited for Coach Gray as he transitions into this new role” Michael Langston Principal at Gordon Lee High School said.
“Gordon Lee high school has a legacy of athletic excellence and with his experience and passion he will continue to build on the foundation that has already been established. I would also like to thank Coach Windham for all that he has done and will continue to do for our athletes and coaches.”
Coach Gray served as a fifth year assistant baseball coach for Armstrong Atlantic University in 2010-2011. He then moved to the North Georgia area and became an assistant baseball coach and assistant athletic director at Heritage High School in Ringgold Georgia. Coach Gray came to Gordon Lee in 2018 where he has served as assistant baseball coach, assistant softball coach, and assistant athletic director.
“Thomas has proven he has what it takes to lead our athletic department moving forward,” System Athletic Director Chris Edge said. “He is an incredibly hard-working person who will be an asset to our Coaches and Athletes. Coach Gray’s strong background and character will enhance our school and athletic department in a variety of ways.
Gray is a 2006 graduate of Ringgold High School where he prepped for Eric Beagles. He graduated from Armstrong Atlantic University in 2011 with his degree in Education and received his master’s degree from Georgia Southern University in 2019.
