Reading Mr. Wamp's letter to the Chattanoogan, I became emotional and had to step away for a few. I always become emotional in matters of our youth and thinking of what happened to many of them over the last 30 plus years.
Mr. Wamp explains what I witnessed up close and tried to sound the alarm over the decades. Others also attempted. We all were immediately shunned, shut down. Of course, his letter nailed the issue more eloquently, precisely and with more class than I ever could.
When children are mistreated at such an impressionable age, they often go on to strike out at society later as adults. It doesn't, and shouldn't take rocket science to explain that. We failed them. We failed to protect them. We owe them a tremendous apology.
When I once said it broke me to witness the things I witnessed, I meant it. Things you wish you could wipe from memory, but can't.
I think Mr. Wamp has great insight. I'm still studying, watching, reading everything I can on all candidates. However, I'm more and more..........................leaning.
