Thomas Edward “T.E.” Bryan
Our family said goodbye this Easter Sunday to our beloved husband, dad, brother, grandad and friend Thomas Edward “T.E.” Bryan, at age 78.
He was born Sept. 21, 1943 in Berrin County, Ga. to the late Grady and Inez Bryan and was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Christine Bryan Hardy and Glenn Hardy; mother of his daughters, Glenda Bryan; sister-in-law, Linda Bryan; and granddaughter, Madison Cook.
Know as T.E. to his extended family and friends. He never saw a stranger. Friend to all he met and helped those around him. T.E. loved God’s beautiful bounty, to grow vegetables and admire the deer and wild turkeys around his home. His family would like to thank all those who helped care for him as his health declined - Homestead Hospice, Chatsworth Health Care and Calhoun Health Care.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Virginia Thomason Cook Bryan of the residence; daughters and their husbands, Rhonda (Leo) Primm of Jasper, Ga., Lisa (Bill) Mattel of Gainesville, Ga., Sandi (Jeff) Ownby of Dalton; son and his wife Brant (Cindi) of Dalton; grandchildren, Blake (Alyssa) Cheek, Tyler Cheek, Anna Mattel, Caroline Mattel, Virgil Lee Cook, Harrison Cook, Ella Cook, Edwin Cook, Lilli Ownby, Nick Thompson and Katie (Johnathan) Davis; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jazmyne, Lyla, Kyra and Mallorie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth (J.D.) Hall of Tifton, GA, Kathy (Jim) Williams of Lake Toxaway, NC, Alice (Byron) of Tifton, Susie (Melvin) Hines of Tifton, Iris (Jim) Shirley of Eustis, FL and Anda (Curtis) Cox of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Christine) Bryan, Grady (Jeanne) Bryan, Ed Bryan and Billy (Robin) Bryan all of Lenox, Ga. and Bill and (Helen) Thomason of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews also survived.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 3 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted as a tribute, but donations to Homestead Hospice at 1601 Hickory St. Dalton, GA 30720, would be appreciated for their dedication to families as their loved one transition from their earthly life.
