Linda Faye Colbry Burgiss
Linda Faye Colbry Burgiss, 78, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 in a Decatur, Tennessee health care facility.
Linda was born in Cleveland and she was the daughter of the late John L. Colby and Gladys Mull Gates and Cecil Gates. Her husband of 56 years, Robert H. Burgiss also preceded her in death.
Linda enjoyed Bluegrass music, get togethers and spending time with family. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her children, Gail Bottoms, Becky Pippenger (John), Janice Herron (David), Brian Burgiss; grandchildren, Jason Pippenger, Nickie Russell (Eric), Dylan Pippenger, Destiny Herron, Skylar Herron; great-grandchildren, Luca Pippenger, Juliona Pippenger, Gabriella Pippenger Nora Russell, Alec Robinson; sister, Brenda Allen (Clarence); brother, Miles Gates (Harvie); and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend David Evans officiating.
Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with John Pippenger, Dylan Pippenger, Skylar Herron, Daniel Robinson, Clarence Allen and David Gates serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Miles Gates.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
