A new restaurant will be opening in the location formerly occupied by Beast and Barrel at 16 Frazier Ave. The four co-owners, Dustin Choate, George Lawallen, Miguel Morales and Reed Trimble of Thirsty Cougar Entertainment, LLC, together have opened six restaurants in the Chattanooga area. The group applied for and received the sixth beer license they hold at the Thursday morning meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board. Frazier 5 & Dime will be a bistro style, casual fine dining restaurant described as being similar to The Meeting Place and Easy Bistro with a lively environment. It will serve both domestic beer and alcohol.

Neidlov’s Breadworks is expanding their offerings to add Pizza Night every Friday night from 6-11 p.m., where beer will be available. Erik Zilen, owner of the business at 215 E. Main St., told the board that artisan style pizza will be sold in a family friendly atmosphere. Orders will be taken at the counter where IDs will be checked for age.  For the time being, beer and wine will only be available on pizza night but that may expand in the future since the beer license will allow it to be sold during any hours that the business is open.

Harrison Tobacco Market, 5914 Highway 58, is being opened in a previous location of First Horizon Bank by Darshilkumar Patel. In addition to tobacco products, beer will be offered for sale. Mr. Patel told the board he has had previous experience in selling beer as a manager of convenience stores. He said IDs will be scanned to check the age of customers.

An Exxon at 4345 Highway 58 has changed ownership that requires a new permit to sell beer at the location. The beer license was approved Thursday morning. Eddie Chaudhary representing the new owners said the business has a scanning system to check all IDs.
