Johnny Matthew Winston, 69, passed away on May 26,2022, in a local nursing home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

Johnny was born on March 21, 1953, to John Henry Winston and Susie Mae Winston in LaFayette, Al. He attended Chattanooga Public Schools. He was a construction worker and lived by the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by John and Susie Winston(parents); Lydia Asare (sister); Elnora Goines (soulmate) and John Baker (brother-in-law).

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, daughter, Ieesha Slay, Cleveland Tn.; three grandsons, Sergeant Brandon (Lisandra )Lofties of San Diego, Ca.; Dejuan Smith, Jordan Massengill of Cleveland; two great-granddaughters, Zoe and Zamora Lofties of San Diego, Ca.: great grandson, Zae Elijah Lofties; six sisters, Juliette Winston, Barbara Winston, Brenda Winston, Johnnie Mae Baker, Connie Panahagahi all of Chattanooga, Vivian Mckenzie of Little Rock, Ar.; a brother, Wayne (Susan) Winston; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, June 12, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. followed immediately by a 3 p.m. funeral service in the chapel of the John P. Franklin Funeral Home,1101 Dodds Avenue, 423 622-9995.
