N. Neal Miller, Jr., 80, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, in a Stockbridge, Georgia hospital.

He was a firefighter for the Chattanooga Fire Department and retired after many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Miller; mother, Emma Price Miller; devoted wife, Mildred Selena Miller; daughter-in-law, Karen Miller; maternal grandparents, Frank Brooks Price and Eliza McClendon.

Survivors include his sons, Michael L. Miller of Atlanta, GA and Brandon T. (Pauline) Miller of Hampton, GA; daughters, Lori M. Miller of Atlanta, GA and Fiona A. Davis of Chattanooga; 3 grandsons; sisters, Gloria Jean Twitty, Lena Miller, both of Chattanooga, Emma Jo Jordan of Knoxville, TN, Sandra Pitner of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Gwendolyn Miller of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Dorris Patton and Leola Richardson, both of Chattanooga; loving companion, Arlene “Pretty Girl” Baker; a host of loving nieces; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; devoted classmates who become friends; former coworkers and beloved friends.

Neal will lie in state on Friday, July 1, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 2, at noon in the chapel with Elder Charles L. Jackson as the eulogist.
