Senator Marsha Blackburn Makes Rhea County Stop

  • Friday, July 15, 2022
Senator Marsha Blackburn stopped in Rhea County on Friday morning to visit the historical Rhea County Courthouse and with county leaders.

Senator Blackburn listened to the issues facing the local community and their feelings about the current economic situation in the country.

She said, “This is part of my tour of the 95 counties in Tennessee once a year.
I have known Jim Vincent since my days when we served in the house together. I got to know Jim and Marilyn during that
period of time, and I'm delighted to be able to work with Jim.

“We are looking in reigning in the size of this federal government. That will be the biggest part of our focus until we get through the mid-term elections.”

Senator Blackburn said she was most proud of legislation that she has introduced that during times of inflation that says in order to pass a spending bill in times of more than four percent inflation it will take a super majority to pass it.

“We think this is a good way to rein in inflation,” she said.
