Street in Fort Oglethorpe was named for James Rogers

The Fort Oglethorpe City Council Monday night named a city street after singer/songwriter James Rogers. 

 

The North Georgia favorite son recently celebrated 50 years in the entertainment business. 

 

For many years Rogers performed at Dolly Parton’s Dollywood in Pigeon Forge.

 

He is best known for his top ten recording of Fly Eagle Fly. 

 

His special interest is veterans causes.
