Multi-sport standout Brett Rogers accounted for four of Silverdale’s six touchdowns and the Seahawks downed Donelson Christian Academy on the road Friday night. Silverdale scored in every quarter as the prevailed 37-7.
Trailing only once at 7-3 late in the first quarter, the Seahawks went ahead for good on a Rogers 49 yard ramble from scrimmage to close out the first stanza. The Seahawks’ quarterback would then score on a 60 yard run, as well as tossing scoring aerials of 44 and 35 yards to Cameron Bowen.
Josh Hardaway closed out the scoring for Silverdale with a five yard run late in the fourth quarter. In addition to all the PATs, Caleb Greco also kicked a 28 yard field goal.
The Seahawks rolled up 390 yards in total offense, with 200 of it coming via their rushing attack. Rogers accounted for 139 yards on his own. Bowen had 140 yards receiving yardage.
Defensively, Silverdale’s stalwart middle linebacker Brody Lamb had eight solo tackles, two being for a loss. Bowen had 62 yards of punt return yardage to lead the special teams effort for the Seahawks.
With the win, Silverdale climbs to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in DII-AA East. The Seahawks travel to Notre Dame (1-4, 0-3) next Friday for a region contest.
