Alexis Morris scored 31 points to lead undefeated LSU past Tennessee, 76-68, in Baton Rouge on Monday night.
It was the first conference loss for the Lady Vols.
LSU led most of the first half, but Tennessee went ahead 20-19 on a Jordan Walker layup. Tennessee trailed at halftime 34-29.
The Tigers led by as many as 14 in the second half, though Tennessee made it interesting by pulling to within three, 50-47, on a Sara Puckett three-pointer.
Rickea Jackson had a chance to tie the game but she missed one free throw to leave the Lady Vols back at 53-52.
Tennessee stayed stuck on 52 until Walker finally made a layup that made it 66-54. Still another Walker layup made it 70-64, but Tennessee was never able to fully close the gap.
LSU's Angel Reese, a double/double specialist, ended the game with 18 after a sub-par first half.
The Lady Vols were led by Walker's 19 and Jackson's 17. Jordan Horston had 11.
