Friends of Isaiah 117 House, led by Sabrena Smedley, hosts a fundraiser to benefit Hamilton County's Isaiah 117 House on the Chambliss Center for Children property. This fundraiser is to assist in the final stretch of funds needed to finish funding their first year's budget with a goal of $20,000.
Friends of Isaiah 117 House invite ladies to don a hat, heels and pearls for a special High Tea Time at Genesis Tea Room at 6178 Adamson Cir. on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $50. RSVP to Sabrena@SabrenaRealty.com or 432-4115 by Thursday.
Chambliss Center for Children and Isaiah 117 House have partnered to bring the first Isaiah 117 House to Hamilton County which will provide physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement. Currently, when a child is removed in a county without an Isaiah 117 House, the child must wait in the child welfare services office until placement is located. This could be hours or even days. Instead, Isaiah 117 House allows children to come to a home with loving volunteers ready to care for them while DCS uses an on-site office to complete necessary paperwork. Children often leave their home with their only possessions in a trash bag. Isaiah 117 House has a Giving Room where volunteers pack bags with toiletries, brand new clothes, shoes and special goodies that are tailored for each child.
Isaiah 117 House at Chambliss Center for Children will provide for that child’s needs, whatever they may be, in these critical moments between removal and placement. To learn more about Isaiah 117 House or make a donation, visit www.chamblisscenter.org/isaiah117house.
