Catherine Carlton, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in a local healthcare center.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Carlton was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church and had attended Parkway Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Weller; two brothers, Edward and Dick Weller; and sister, Rosie Schoolfield.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Bill Carlton; two sons, Steve Carlton (Michael Brannen), Dallas, TX and Tim ( DeeDee) Carlton, Ringgold; brother, Pat (Gail) Weller, Hixson; five grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie) Carlton, Jacob (Nichole) Carlton, Blair Carlton, Chase Carlton, and Weller (Cami) Carlton; three great-grandchildren, Arya, Abby, and Jaxx Carlton; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Travis Rodgers officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
