Richard “Dicky” David Trotter, Sr.

Richard “Dicky” David Trotter, Sr., 82, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at his residence.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was formerly employed by Steel Production as a steel mill millwright worker. Richard attended Real Life Ministries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dale and Catherine Trotter; wife, Barbara Jean Trotter; brothers, Jacob Dale Trotter and John Anthony Trotter.

Survivors include his wife of one year, Immelda Namutebi Trotter; son, Richard Trotter, Jr. of Chattanooga; daughters, Rosiland Stephanie Trotter of St. Paul, MN and Gina Trotter Tafari of Salisbury, NC; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Monroe A. (Ella) Trotter of Chattanooga, Pastor Joel C. (Beverly) Trotter of Jacksonville, FL, and Nathaniel Trotter of Denver, CO; sisters, Deborah McClendon of Aurora, CO, Judith Turner, and Lisa Susan Berry, both of Denver; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and close friends.

Richard will lie in state on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Joel C. Trotter as the eulogist.

Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery will be at a later date.
