Mary Rook
Mary Stiles Rook, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
Mary was born in Ames, Ia., on Nov. 14, 1937, the daughter of William B. Stiles and Myrna Cadwell Stiles. She graduated from University of Tennessee. Mary was a resident of Chattanooga since 1965 and retired from Hamilton County Schools after 30 years of service. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Erlanger Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. Mary was an avid TN Vols fan, world traveler, reader, and enjoyed exercising and various physical activities. She also loved singing with The Joyful Sounds at Christ United Methodist Church. She was a strong independent woman and most importantly, loved God and her family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Behler.
Survivors include her three children, Susan Rook, Scott Rook (Pia), and Lynda Rook Fowler; and six grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, and Katie Rook and Matthew, Meredith, and Sarah Fowler.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. at Heritage Chapel.
Visitation will be on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until the service hour at Heritage Funeral Home.
