The Valley Venues
The Valley Venues, a wedding and event venue located just outside Chattanooga in Wildwood, Ga., celebrated its soft opening by hosting "Aphasia Together," an event celebrating the Aphasia community and advocating for advancements in aphasia research, care and support.
The decision to launch the venue's opening with this cause was personal to co-founders Paul and Kobi Cummings. Paul, Kobi's father, suffered a stroke a few years ago (2018) and was diagnosed with aphasia. Since his diagnosis, Paul has dedicated himself to raising awareness about strokes, aphasia and dementia, actively participating in organizations like the National Aphasia Association to make a difference in the lives of those facing similar challenges.
Guests included members of the international Aphasia community, local business representatives, delegates from the Sheriff's Office, and Chattanooga Chapter representatives from the American Heart Association and Room In The Inn. The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce also hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the event.
Guests enjoyed a three-course meal provided by catering company High Haute Foods.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote address delivered by Courtney Runyon, a motivational speaker, international best-selling author, life coach, and autoimmune survivor, who shared her inspiring personal journey of resilience and optimism.
