The 2023 Chattanooga Humanitarian Award Banquet and Gala will be hosted Dec. 16 from 6-9 p.m. in the newly renovated event hall of the Chattanooga Civic Center at Mountainside at 701 Hooker Road. This is the 6th Annual event hosted by the Alton Park Development Corporation.
This year’s theme is “Human Deeds for Human Needs” and outstanding philanthropists will be recognized for providing 10 years or more of service to Chattanooga citizens and improving the lives of those in need both locally and globally. The event will be commemorated with presentations from the office of Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp and the Alton Park Development Corporation.
Former honorees include but are not limited to the late John P. Franklin Sr., the late Luther Massengale, Franklin McCallie, Bishop Kevin Adams, Judge Rob Philyaw, Dr. Edna Varner, Latrice Currie Leslie and many other great philanthropists.
The gala is a formal event and the celebration will consist of live entertainment from The Baking Bassist and ISSA Award Winning International Artist Jimmy Allgood. Dinner will be catered by Herman Soul Food and Restaurant.
