Sandra Blaylock Seifert, a Texan by heart and a woman of strength and independent spirit, passed away on April 3, 2023, in her hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a grounded personality that made her loved and respected by all who knew her.

Sandra was born in Amarillo, Texas, and moved to Chattanooga with her parents and sister, graduating from Chattanooga City High and then moving to New York City on a scholarship to attend the Cooper Union Institute of Art and Science. Sandra was a talented artist and graphic designer, who worked as the Art Director for the Herald Tribune and many popular Manhattan Magazines. She met her husband Hans Seifert while visiting her sister, Waynette and brother-in-law, Harold Sosebee, who were stationed with the U.S. Army in Darmstadt, Germany.

Sandra and Hans lived in several countries spanning the globe, but ultimately retired in their favorite city of Chattanooga, to be close to family. Her natural curiosity and international poise gave her a unique perspective on the world that she shared with those around her. She was an adventurer at heart, always eager to explore new places and meet new people.

One of Sandra's greatest passions was international cuisine, and she was an amazing cook known for her Mexican dishes, heart-warming soups, southern food, and banana bread. Her martinis were legendary, and she loved nothing more than preparing a meal and a drink with friends and family.

Sandra was always dressed for the occasion, with a fresh haircut and beautiful jewelry. She had a presence that commanded attention and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her talent as an artist was also something that was admired by many, and her work was a true testament to her creativity and passion.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will always remember her for her strength, independent spirit, and quirky humor. Her legacy will live on through the memories she created and the love she shared with all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Sandra is survived by her daughter Christina, son Alex, and grandchildren Matthew, Evie and Harrison. Not to forget legions of cousins, nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends around the globe.

Sandra will be laid to rest in Spring City, Tn., privately by her children.
