The Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center will host its Third Annual Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Sweetens Cove Golf Club. This fundraising event supports the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center and its mission to memorialize the history and heritage of the nation’s highest military award for valor and educate future generations of Americans about the six character traits embodied by the Medal of Honor and its recipients: Patriotism, Citizenship, Courage, Integrity, Sacrifice, and Commitment.
The presenting sponsor for the tournament is Textile Rubber and Chemical Company. Silver Sponsors are Columbia Recycling and Fillauer Company respectively.
Located in South Pittsburg, Sweetens Cove Golf Club offers a unique golf experience that is sought by golfers from around the country. Sweetens Cove has been featured in The New York Times and ranked the 49th ranked Modern Golf Course and the 21st Best Course You Can Play in the United States by Golfweek. The Sweetens Cove experience has made this 9-hole golf course a golf destination. By selling all-day passes for play and ditching traditional tee times, golfers can play golf all day long (current record 254 holes of golf) on a course that is never crowded or slow to play. A casual atmosphere and world-class playing conditions culminate in an experience that has made playing Sweetens Cove a bucket list item for golfers everywhere, said officials.
The tournament brings together business executives, veterans, donors, and golf enthusiasts from across the region who will take to the greens to help raise funds for the Heritage Center and its character education initiatives. Participating teams will enjoy playing a world-class golf course, complimentary goody bags, and food and beverage throughout the day.
