Lamar Johnson
Lamar Darnell Johnson, 34, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona.
He attended Hixson High School.
Survivors include his son, Landon Lamar Johnson of Hixson, TN; mother, Sherry Yvonne Kilgore of Hixson; father, Larry Darnell Johnson of Hendersonville, TN; grandparents, Mattie Johnson of Gallatin, TN, Gwendolyn Turner, Zepher Williams, both of Chattanooga, and Curtis Benn of Memphis; great-grandmother, Helen Green of Chattanooga; brother, Jamar Welch of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Danielle Johnson of Hendersonville, Makayla Johnson of Lebanon, TN, Jeanel (Marques) Johnson of Clarksville, Shaunte (Brandon) Garrett of Chattanooga, and Tesha (Antoine) Ward of Hixson; uncles, Glen Johnson, Tony Bartlett, Tyrone Bartlett, all of Gallatin, Michael Williams, Curtis Benn, Jr., and Kenny Benn, all of Chattanooga; aunts, Tammy Bartlett of Gallatin, Katrina Benn of Chattanooga, and Monica Kilgore of Nashville; great-aunts, Eva Ratliff, Shirley Reid, Deborah Johnson, all of Chattanooga, and Mary Green of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; close family friends, Clyde Kilgore, Myra Sandford, and many others.
A memorial service for Lamar will be on Saturday, May 27, at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with his mother, Sherry Yvonne Kilgore giving words of comfort.
