Arthur Scott
Arthur “BeBo” Scott, Jr., 72, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his residence.
He was born February 23, 1952, in Newnan, Ga. Arthur a 1969 graduate of Howard High School. He attended Chattanooga State Community College, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Edmondson, and McKenzie College of Business, and ESCO Institute before graduating with his Master’s degree. Arthur served in the United States Army and earned the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Vietnam Service Metal, Overseas Bar, Certificate of Appreciation from Veterans Foreign, Wars of the United States Award, Heroes of Desert Storm, and a Certificate of Appreciation in the Support of Desert Storm from the Department of the Army. He volunteered with (D.O.G.S.) Dads of Great Students at 21st Century Academy and worked as a judge for voting.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Debra P. Scott; parents, Arthur B. Scott, Sr., and Lucille R. Scott; brother, Boise Christopher Scott; grandparents, Decan Otis Allison, Thelma Russell Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Scott.
Survivors include his sons, Devin T. Scott, Sr., Kerry Fortson, Sr., and Keith (Keisha) Fortson; brother, Ronnie Scott; sister, Janice Broadnax; best friend, George E. Woodruff, Jr.; aunts, Alice Watson, and Walley Fortson; grandchildren, Devin T. Scott, Jr., Kerry Fortson, Jr., Kendall Fortson, Kruz Fortson, Garyique Wallace, and Reagan Wallace; sister-in-law, Dolly Hines; step-sister-in-law, Erika Tramell; nephews, Boise Christopher (Kema) Scott, Jr., Phillip Hines, Datavine Scott, Quincy (Tamaka) Scott, Ronnie Scott, Darrell (Adrianna) Hines, Deangelo Hines, Dominique Jarrett, and Paisley Jarrett; nieces, Ronica Scott, Tyniqua Holloway, Kasmira Scott, Quinesha Scott, Amira Hines; cousins, Buddy Hesterly, Calvin “Big Boy” Watson, and Patricia Watson.
Arthur will lie in state on Wednesday, July 5, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
