Tennessee Wing (TNWG) Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Group 2 changed command Tuesday in Chattanooga. Command was assumed by 2d Lt Robert “Bob” Lawson from Maj Gary Fiser, both of Chattanooga.
Passing the symbolic guidon from outgoing to incoming commanders was TNWGbCommander Col Rob Borsari. Distinguished guests included Col Barry Melton (previously Southeast Region CAP Commander, TNWGmCommander, and National Board Member), Col Dent Young (previously commander of Tennessee Wing CAP, TNWG), and several current Squadron Commanders from Group 2. Chattanooga Cadet Squadron TN-187 hosted the event.
Group 2 TNWG includes Squadrons in Tullahoma, Lewisburg, Cleveland, Dayton, Chattanooga, and Spencer, Tennessee. Tennessee Wing includes over 1,050 volunteer members with nine aircraft across 35 squadrons. The FY2022 value of the Wing’s volunteer hours was over $3.3 million.
