The term “Gentle Giant” is an alliterative term often used in connection with an image of an individual. A definition of the term is: a man who is tall and strong but has a quiet, mild nature.
Coach Henry Dickerson invested his entire adult life to coaching young men to play basketball at the college level. While so many in his field are remembered solely on wins and losses, Henry transcended those parameters in ways that will be recalled as memorable and special.
One can use a host of adjectives to describe Henry favorably as well they should. I simply choose the following from my perspective and personal knowledge: an incredibly loving father and husband/a marvelous mentor to those young men who came into his path/a loyal and dedicated comrade and finally a friend.
RIP Gentle Giant: Henry Dickerson. Thank you for being in our lives.
