The Erlanger Foundation welcomes Kathleen “Katie Beth” Fowler as development coordinator, and announces that Samantha Lord has been promoted to director of Development Annual Giving.

Ms. Fowler joins the Erlanger Foundation from Athens, Ga., where she attended the University of Georgia, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Master of Public Administration. She completed an undergraduate Certificate of Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and a graduate specialization in Nonprofit Administration. As a graduate student, she had the opportunity to work as a Student Fellow with the Athens Area Community Foundation, managing the Nonprofit of the Year award process and working closely with the Board of Directors.

Ms. Fowler also held a Graduate Research Assistantship for two years with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, where she assisted in conference coordination, research, and report writing. As development coordinator, Ms. Fowler works with e-philanthropy, partners with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Corporate Partners program and the special events program, serves the Erlanger Foundation Board of Directors as Board Liaison, and supports the Foundation president.

Ms. Lord moved to Chattanooga to attend UTC to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. At UTC, she was involved in the American Marketing Association and Student Veterans Affairs. Also while attending undergrad at UTC, she began an internship as an Erlanger Scholar within the compliance department, where she learned the complexities of HIPAA, patient safety, and information security for a healthcare organization. Ms. Lord is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration.

Ms. Lord returned to Erlanger in 2022 as development coordinator before taking on her current role as director of Development Annual Giving. In this role, Ms. Lord manages the Annual Giving Programs for the giving societies such as the 1891 Society and Queen and Crescent Society, employee and physician giving, and e-philanthropy and direct mail while continuing to oversee the Foundation’s marketing projects.

“We are proud to foster a culture of growth and development within the Erlanger Foundation, as demonstrated by Sami Lord’s promotion to Director of Annual Giving,” said Julie Taylor, president of Erlanger Foundation. “This promotion exemplifies our commitment to recognizing and nurturing top talent from within our organization. The Foundation is also pleased to welcome Katie Beth Fowler as our new Development Coordinator. She brings a passion for philanthropy, further strengthening our team and advancing our mission. These changes will undoubtedly ensure the Foundation’s future growth and impact in our community.”
