The Chattanooga Division of Transportation announces the following upcoming construction and special event road closures:
Construction:
W. 7th Street -
W. 7th Street between Pine Street and Chestnut Street will be closed Saturday, Aug 5 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. for a crane lift. Detours will be posted.
W. 26th Street -
W. 26th Street between Cowart Street and Williams Street will be closed Monday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 18 for construction. Detours will be posted.
Special Events:
Nightfall -
The following roads and intersections will be closed every Friday through Sept.
2 from 5:30 p.m.-midnight:
• Cherry Street at E MLK Blvd (begins 3 p.m. for set-up);
• Market Street between East 8th Street and East 10th Street; and
• Martin Luther King Boulevard Between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue
Chattanooga Football Club Home Match -
The following roads will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 4 p.m.-midnight:
• Reggie White Boulevard between the Chattanooga Skate Park north entrance and W. 20th Street (Reggie White will remain closed until 6 p.m. Sunday for the Chattanooga Market);
• Chestnut Street between W. 17th Street and W. 19th Street; and
• W. 19th Street between Reggie White Boulevard and Chestnut Street.
Street parking will be prohibited on Chestnut Street within the closure on the dates/times listed above. Vehicles left within the closure will be towed at the owner's expense.
Missionary Ridge Road Race -
S. Crest Road between S. Seminole Drive and Waheela Road will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 7-10 a.m. for the annual Missionary Ridge Road Race. The following intersections with S. Crest Road will see significant delays for crossing vehicle traffic while race participants pass: E. View Drive, Old Ringgold Road, Westside Drive, Shadowlawn Drive and Peachtree Road.
Chattanooga Market -
Reggie White Boulevard between W. 19th Street and the Skate Park access road will remain closed after Saturday's CFC Match and will reopen Sunday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. This week's theme is "National Farmers Market Week."
