The Covenant College (4-3-3, 1-0-0 CCS) men's soccer team began its CCS season with a trip south to take on Huntingdon. The Scots came back from a one-goal halftime deficit to come back to Lookout Mountain with a win.

Kade Theunissen about gave Covenant the lead in the seventh minute as his shot in the crossbar.  Huntingdon took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Tate Reynolds.

Josh Crisp and Theunissen had chances back-to-back in the 36th minute, but attempts were saved.  The Scots had four corner kicks in the final eight minutes before halftime, however, they could not take advantage of their chances.  At the half Covenant had 19 shots while Huntingdon had five.

Theunissen netted his first goal of the year in the 49th minute to tie the match at one. Two minutes later, Ty Morgan scored what would turn out to be the winning goal for the Scots. In the 59th minute, Knox Gibson had two shots saved by the Hawks goalie. Covenant continued to press on looking for a third goal with shots from Theunisssen, Tyler Johnson, and Gibson.

The Hawks had their final chance of the day in the 87th minute, but Sy Garrett's shot went wide left.

Covenant will travel to Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
