South Carolina Contracting Firm Plans To Open Chattanooga Office

  • Tuesday, September 26, 2023

A South Carolina contracting firm plans to open a Chattanooga Office in the upcoming months.

Jack Evans said he formed Evans Contracting Group, which is a service disabled veteran owned business which specializes in civil construction with a specialty in concrete.

The firm has completed projects at Joint Base Charleston Naval Weapons Station, Fort Jackson and Fort Stewart. The firm has built a large charter school in Charleston where the firm self performed the masonry and concrete package.

The firm has also completed over 250,000 square feet of post tension slabs for multi-family projects.

It is working on several Chattanooga area projects.

The firm is in the process of getting certified with the VA and DOL "to have an apprenticeship project to help reinvigorate the skilled trades which desperately needs it." Mr. Evans said.

Evans Contracting Group is described as a turn-key concrete contractor, focused on structural concrete projects in the residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare and government sectors.

Mr. Evans said, "We self perform all labor in house including layout, excavation, formwork installation, reinforcing steel installation, and place and finish. ECG currently has around 40 workers and three superintendents. We are quickly growing and would like to focus on work in the Southeast. We typically like to stay within 500 miles of our home office, but can go further for the right project.

"We have successfully completed projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and West Virginia."

Mr. Evans said, "This will allow fellow veterans to be able to get out of the military and be a part of an organization in the civilian world that is bigger than themselves and which is very rewarding."
