David Eugene Gann, 72, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024.

He was born on March 7, 1951, to Eugene and Willie Gann, and was a lifetime resident of Chattanooga. David was employed with Olan Mills as a printing press operator for over 30 years. He was an avid fan of the band, Alabama, collecting Coca-Cola products and celebrating his Native American heritage. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and his son, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Willie Gann, and siblings, Dorothy, Betty Jo, and Harold.

David is survived by his daughter, Deirdre Scoggins (Chris); sister, Wanda Mick; granddaughter, Rosie Green (Ryan), as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 4–8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.

A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Evans “Blue” Parker officiating.

David will be laid to rest in Chattanooga Memorial Park, also known as the Duck Pond.
