Inez Clift
Inez Clift, 81, of Chattanooga, transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in her home.
She was a graduate of Howard High school class of 1961. Inez furthered her education by attending Tennessee State University and Harvard Diversity Night school. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Treasury, Church Hospitality, and Media organizations. Inez worked and retired from the Compton Post Office after 30 plus years of service.
Inez is preceded in death by her parents, Pleas and Maebell Reid; sisters, Patricia Reid, Annie Doris Cunningham, and Maezell Reid Childress; brother, Willie Joe Reid; niece, Pamela Lynn Childress; nephew, Gerald Reid, Sr.; aunt, Dot Allen and Rena Swint.
Survivors include her son, Roderick (Sherrlynn) Clift of Manor, TX; special brother-in-law, James Cunningham of Chattanooga; niece, Wanda (Jimmy) Whatley and Sherrill Satterwhite both of Chattanooga; nephew, Michael (Sharonda) Cunningham of Fullerton, CA and Bryant Cunningham of Chattanooga; aunt, Annie Lewis of Conley, GA; special cousin, Leola Phelps; special friends, Minister Robert and Emma Cooley, Linda McKeldine and Floyd Arnold.
Inez will lie in state on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Montgomery as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
