As a fifth-generation lifetime resident of Signal Mountain and 25 year resident of Walden, I enthusiastically recommend Lizzy Schmidt for a second term as Walden aldermen.
Lizzy has demonstrated through her service to Walden that she understands what makes Walden a highly desirable community in which to live and raise a family. Her prior votes reflect the perspective of devotion to Walden’s unique rural character. While additional commercial development might add some convenience for Walden’s residents, the excessive size of proposed additions would detract more than benefit our community.
I am fortunate to have a sixth and seventh generation of my family who call Walden home and I am counting on Lizzy Schmidt and other members of Walden’s government to maintain those qualities that make our community very special.

Lizzy Schmidt is running for alderman in Walden in the upcoming election on Nov. 5.
You should vote for Lizzy if you live in Walden because she supports commercial development that aligns with Walden's Land Use Plan. She is running against Lou Zeibold, a commercial developer here and out of state, who looks at commercial development as a way to make the most money off a piece of land despite the development's impact on traffic, overcrowding, and infrastructure. For example, his plan for a 30,000 square foot grocery store in Walden will have an adverse effect on the above.
Lizzy grew up in Walden. She appreciates that keeping growth smaller and controlled is the key to retaining the lovely small-town we now have in Walden.
Please vote for Lizzy Schmidt for alderman in Walden on Nov. 5.
